US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was established as a separate administration within the U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) on January 1, 2000 pursuant to the Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act of 1999. It covers all private sector employers and workers in all 50 states, territories and jurisdictions under federal authority.
The primary mission of the FMCSA is to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities involving large trucks and buses. We partner with you and your employees in developing or improving your programs and procedures. Alternatively, we can do most of the work for you - the choice is yours. Either way, we will work with you to improve your Fleet Safety Management System, D.O.T. Compliance, and reduce your costs.
